Rich Chewy Brownies are thick, fudegy chocolaty homemade treats that are so easy to make, it will be hard not to have them for dessert every night!
I had intended to post this recipe for Rich Chewy Brownies on the weekend which is always a fantastic time to bake. That was the plan, but as you can see, that is not what happened. It’s a good thing that the recipe for these brownies is a simple one to follow. You can just as easily make them during the week as they take no time at all. They are best served right after they have cooled and yes, you really would have time to make some after you get home from work. I am not kidding!
What I love about this recipe is that it can make just a small batch if you just want a little sweet treat or you can easily double this recipe for a larger crowd or to accommodate a larger sweet tooth! Whatever the case may be.
If you are a novice baker, this recipe for Rich Chewy Brownies is a good one to start with. It is pretty much fool proof and it will really impress those who are lucky enough to give them a taste test.
The one trick I can pass on or maybe tip would be a better word, is to not overcook them. They will quickly go from chewy to hard as a rock if you aren’t watching the time closely. Another tip I can pass along is to be a bit wary of the baking time that I’ve put in here. Since no two ovens are created equal and some are hotter than others, please be sure to keep an eye on your Rich Chewy Brownies as they bake. Use the time that I give as a guide but what I do is keep checking on them once the time gets near. They will be harder on the outside and softer looking in the middle. This is how they are supposed to look.
Nuts is not something I would use in any kind of baking or cooking, so if I can chose to substitute chocolate chips for nuts, I say SCORE!! This is exactly what I have done in this particular recipe. Feel free to use nuts or chocolate chips, the choice is up to you. Something else you can try is to use both chocolate chips and nuts. I will tell you how to do this. If you double the recipe, you can either put the brownie batter in a larger 9″x 13″ oblong baking pan or you can use 2 8″x 8″ baking pans and one half will have nut for the nutty part of the group and the other I will put in chocolate chips in for the chocolate lovers. This trick has made my sister-in-law, Kim very happy as she is nutty about nuts!
The last time I made them, my lovely step-daughter, Jessica, thought that they would be fabulous served warm and topped with vanilla ice cream. I say not only was this a superb idea, it really took the Rich Chewy Brownies to a whole new level of deliciousness! You really should give it a try. Sadly, I do not have a picture of this masterpiece as it was eaten up too fast!
Finally, I have to tell you that these brownies do not contain difficult to find ingredients. A little bit of sugar, cocoa and a healthy does of chocolate chips and there you have it! Along with a few other boring ingredients like flour and butter…..don’t forget those as well! This is a delectable dessert that is guaranteed to please all the chocolate brownie lovers out there! Go and make yourself some amazing Rich Chewy Brownies!! And please, let me know how they turn out.

Rich Chewy Brownies are great just like this but if you’d like to add an extra layer of decadence to them, they taste amazing with icing as well!
